re2: plastic fans

I think the real plastic fans are the ones who suddenly hate an artist’s music because of something un-related.

I dont like his music cause he testified in a murder trial! ~plastic fan

People are starting to not listen to T.I. anymore cause he testified in court; he’s a snitch. snitch or not, it has very little to do with his music.

Hes C.O.! That aint gangsta! His music is no good!~plastic fan

"He's C.O.! That ain't gangsta! His music is no good!"~plastic fan

So Rick Ross used to be a correctional officer in the past. does that mean all the music he has made that you thought was awesome is now crap?

Hes got a lip ring! FAG! Not gangsta! His music sucks!~plastic fan

I can understand people not liking lil wayne’s auto-tune songs but not liking his music because he has a lip ring? what does his lip ring have anything to do with his music? No longer liking someone’s music because they have a new look sounds crazy. probably the only time you should no longer like an artist’s music is when you actually dont like the music itself.

I actually think there completely related. The fact of the matter is, that these artists are trying to portray a certain image with the music that they’re creating. When they dress a certain way, or a act a certain way in public that’s differs from their perceived image, it undermines their credibility as an artist.

Believe it or not, a lot of their fans actually believe that Rick Ross was a cocaine dealing playboy. When a picture comes out that conflicts with his “gangsta persona,” it might leave a sour taste in those fans mouths.
