Can’t take a joke

tropic_thunder_ver4

People now a days can’t take a damn joke. For example: There was a group/activists for the rights of the “mentally challenged” who filed a law suit against the creators of Tropic Thunder saying that Ben Stillers portrayal of a handicapped individual named Simple Jack was an insult to all handicapped individuals. Dosn’t the constitution allow for free speech and protect the right to express oneself. It was just to get a couple of laughs nothing serious.

  1. Wasn’t the point of this to portray how unrealistic and contrived Hollywood’s depiction of the mentally disabled can often be? It was supposed to be offensive and unrealistic. It was a satire! Maybe if they weren’t so retarded they would realize that the creators of this film, along with Stiller, were trying to bash Hollywood for the exploitation of mentally challenged people that is already rampant. If they’re smart enough to be offended, then Stiller’s role isn’t even analogous to them in the first place.

    Fun Family Guy quote:
“We don’t like the term insane. We prefer the term mentally hilarious.”

people are just to scared of anything that could remotely be offensive to some gender, race or minority. These guys would rather play it safe and attack an easy target like tropic thunder than actually do something worth a damn in socioty…

i seriously doubt anyone who was actually mentally challenged had a problem with that.
