Ingredients of a Pop Star

I guess to be a pop star, you’d have to be hot, thin, Blonde, and you’d have to be able to sing and dance. All of these girls say that they want to be different from everybody else by doing their “own thing,” but are they really? It seems like they more they try to be different, they are the very one’s who are creating the mold.

Easy Mission:

Come up with a list and create a collage of other female stars who don’t really fit the “pop star” mold, but who are successful in the business.

P!nk, Gwen Stefani, and Avril Lavigne to me are not regular pop stars. As you mentioned, many of the pop stars in the United States are sexy. They in the music videos try to be appeal to men. However, these three people I mentioned are pop stars but also punk rock stars. Since they have their own style, I think they are not typical ordinary pop stars.

I wouldn’t consider any of those three girls punk rock. They like to pretend that there “wild and crazy” and “edgy” but anyone could see through that facade. Okay, not anyone, seeing as how millions of people buy their shit.

Under all the cheesy guitar riffs and asinine lyrics, they’re just as pop as any other MTV harlequin. I mean c’mon, “Hey you, yeah you, I don’t like your girlfriend, no way, no way, I think you need a new one?” that’s just bad.

I would say Lily Allen is a “pop star” that doesn’t fit in with those typical conventions, in that she’s not afraid to speak her mind, and she can actually sing pretty well. Refer to the post I made earlier with her new video.
