Lost fans anyone?

I’m a Lost fan I know. I think the show is well-written and well-thought out. For example they brought a whole new way to involve their viewers during the second season, that has never been done before. They used subliminal messages to send out clues to links on the internet that blurred the lines of the show and actual reality. Now it seems more obvious that these websites are fake, but they give diehard viewers a way to involve themselves with the show, and make them feel as if they are a part of the show. Here is an example of what I am talking about. This is a actual promo that is airing on ABC to promote the new season of Lost. Let’s see if you can catch it.

So this one isn’t so hard to spot, but if you couldn’t quite make it out here’s a frame of the second flash, so you don’t have to go through the pain of trying to find that one frame.

So this is what’s cleverly wedged in between the video. This of course is a fake airline company, but provides dedicated viewers to participate on their website. Crazy how the media is getting these days huh?

  1. These are called Alternative Reality Games, I read about some of these on TV when they did Texas Hold em in grave yards because of the game “GUN.”
This was called Last Call Poker. You can see more here:

  2. Umm, isnt it illegal to do this? Putting these one second flash frames into the shot. I thought that you could go to jail from putting in advertisement as subliminal messaging now. I dunno, but it seems so dirty.

  3. Is it really advertising if your not really advertising anything? IDK, I just think it’s a fun way of getting fans more immersed in a already popular series… although I’ve only seen one episode…
